Glory (1989) Theater Banner

Please forgive a newbie for not knowing the right lingo.

I've got a 3'x8'(ish) horizontal banner of the 1989 movie "Glory" (Matthew Broderick, Cary Elwes, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman) with a big battle scene and the stars' names along the top.  It is on material that feels like canvas or some kind of fabric.  Sorry, it is in storage and I won't be able to get to it for proper measurement and photo for a couple of days - but I'm guessing that some of you here know precisely what I've got.

It came directly from a theater after opening night, is in pristine condition, and is currently rolled in a tube.

I'm hoping that someone can give me a sense for what it is worth and give me an idea about how it should best be stored/framed/mounted or whatever in order to preserve its value?

Thanks.

  • One sold on emovieposter back in 2012 for $28.

Unfortunately large posters are not desirable because of their size. Cost of framing far out ways the value of the poster.
  • Thank you, Matt.  That's very helpful.

Not desirable, says the guy who hangs banners in his house.  :D
That said, I do agree with your assessment of the original question.  :)
  • Hehe, you got me Rock. Got one over my bedhead. Hand made. Not the best but does the job.
  • You’re preaching to the converted, my friend. I like banners and other large posters. They are undoubtedly a pain to frame, but they’re cool.
