Republic Pictures Logo Help

The stars aligned and I walked into the right antique booth yesterday. Found this original art board with the Republic Pictures Corporation Logo... Any help on dating it would be great!

I unable to assist either. Without any other information on the poster other than the three word name, that perhaps may have helped, there is nothing to work with.
  • Hondo with your research skills I was hoping you could find it somewhere. It’s the original artwork which I would think would have been used for film or posters. The top part is on several posters.

The eagle on your poster is a different colour than the ones normally seen, with no white featured here. I will look into it further though.

  • The eagle logo was sparingly featured on the Australian daybills. Displayed above is the different style logo that was used during a relatively short period of time in Australia in the 1950s.
  • It looks like they moved to the eagle in the late 40s (47)
Eagle on the mountain seems to be around 48.

  • That is awesome Charlie!
  • Thanks so much for the wonderful help. I guess the bit that is elusive it why it is not an American Bald Eagle. I was curious so I searched other eagles in California.

There is such a thing as a California Golden Eagle...
  • Actually just a golden eagle - they seem to be everywhere in North America.. It’s the same size as the bald eagle. Maybe a mock up
    or something.

    Unique to Australia perhaps?
  • Maybe an international thing?

Oh well... I’ve been looking all
morning. I have no clue. Guess I’ll just frame and enjoy.

If you are inclined to get in touch with them, looks like they have an archive of stuff
  • Very nice find Charlie!

I am purely guessing that it might be related to their home video releases

  • Australian daybill usage logo in the very early 1950s and a similar logo to this used  in Australia into the
    mid 1950s with media advertising.

This swooping bald eagle style logo was adapted and altered for usage in Australian media usage in circa 1958 with the eagle reversed and swooping to the right and the words Republic Pictures printed on the logo image.

I thought video too but all those logos have "HOME VIDEO" underneath.  I really think the key to this is the lack of the white to make the eagle a bald eagle...
  • Good find Charlie. I like it.
  • Sweet pickup, Charlie! Great condition and size. Will look classic once framed.
  • I am afraid I have struck out.  I cannot find anything relevant to your search Charlie which is very frustrating...

Best of luck sorting it out!
