I'm late to the party with reading/responding, Charlie, but my thoughts and prayers include everyone her passing, her husband and the virus has impacted, not the least of which is you. I'm sorry to hear it.
It would appear I spoke too soon about my good fortune for continued employment. I found out last night that due to virus related impact and related cutbacks, that I've been "furloughed" for up to 90 days. If I get called back during that time period, everything goes back to normal. If it exceeds that 90 days, I'm officially "laid off", which I believe is their vernacular for "you're fired". Generously, they're paying for health insurance during that time, but the uncertainty isn't something we really needed right now.
As you said, Charlie, we'll keep the poster family love at VMPF.
That sucks Rock. Its times like these when everyone should be more considerate and do as much as they can to preserve all jobs. Hope this gets sorted soon

I understand how tremendously blessed I am in general, so while I can certainly throw a doozy of a pity party over the handful of things going sideways, I'm way more fortunate than so many others. This too shall pass, and hopefully the lessons we need to learn from it will become clear.
So the easter long weekend with nowhere to go saw us build EVERY lego set the girls own between them! Days of looking for mixed up and missing bits, but we got there. Will get some pics and post tomorrow maybe.
Homeschooling starts Tuesday. Lordy, help me stay sane and calm!
Home schooling - I feel ya! 4 kids here to 'teach'...oh boy!
My work continues to chug along; I've only been in the office for a few hours in the past month and it is starting to feel pretty isolating. I really feel for those on furloughs or 'extended leave' - it's just another layer of uncertainty in what is already such an uncertain time.
It is nice to have the VMPF Clubhouse to hang out in :-)
I think the hoarding is over here. Plenty of loo paper, tissues and paper towels. Just a shortage of premedicated wipes and disinfectant spray cans. But that too shall pass. Got my flu shot before the rush. That alone kills too many people a year.

Thanks for the update. It's good to hear things are stable there, if not maybe even looking up a little. Hopefully the trend keeps going in that direction.
Infection rates are actually 50x - 85x more than recorded in one county studied.
I have a terrible feeling when all this is over and using hindsight vision, the great corona virus shutdown will have all been mass hysteria. For now, everyone stay safe.

Yeah found this too, the last couple of weeks. Slowly but surely, the morons realised there is no need to hoard!

The scary thing here (and of course that reflects my own opinion) is that there's a growing unrest/movement to stop the stay at home idea, and push to get life back to normal. While I totally understand the need for that economically, it seems like a disaster waiting to happen with regards to a resurgence in rates of infection. The basic supplies needed to treat this thing are reportedly still very low, so letting people loose seems like throwing a whole bunch more fuel on to an already raging dumpster fire.
Well Melbourne covid numbers are on the rise forcing the State Government to put us into a lock down. No going out after 8pm to 5am. No travelling more than 5 kms from home unless for work or care giving/receiving. Oh and must wear a mask outside of home.
We are fortunate here in Australia to be currently faring better that most countries throughout the world during this covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully our members throughout the world are safe and well.

We're still hanging in there down here in the mid-southeast of the good ol' US of A. Covid is seemingly raging in the US, with a fatality every thirty seconds or so, or at least that's what they're reporting. Thankfully the two of us have stayed healthy so far. Hopefully this country's response will be more aggressive and standardized in the new year.
Fairly nasty up here in Wisconsin. Twelve deaths in the last few days in a semi-rural county. Nobody wears masks because "its all a hoax anyway". So we stay at home, get groceries put in the car trunk, and greet family very seldom and with masks outdoors only.

Yeah... I actually think cities may be a little safer. Everyone here in Houston seems to be wearing masks. The country club folk don't much so I try to keep my distance but it is pretty tough. When out at the store and what not everyone has masks on. There are a lot of house parties and what not around the neighborhood where you wouldn't be able to find a mask... I know several people whom have gotten it at this point and liken it to a mild flu or just a couple days of being run down. My cousin had a rough go with it and was on oxygen... It's really a weird deal. We canceled Thanksgiving probably Christmas too.

The New York Times put out an app that predicts when someone can receive a vaccine. I am 71 and have type 2 diabetes. The calculator says I can look forward to my vaccine around April. 8 million Americans ahead of me.

Will be hoping you get that callback well before the 90 days.
Take care!
