Happy New Year!

edited January 2022 in Everything Else!
Got a lot accomplished this year with transitioning the site. Now if we can just get past this dang COVID.

Personally….

Our engineering firm just hired its 12th employee and we are doing great. With the new infrastructure bill we expect even more work to pour in.

Our daughter continues to make great strides in school and we have been filling out applications and taking entrance exams for high school.

I achieved a full year of sobriety in December - no group stuff or legal stuff. Just got tired of being a dumbass. It is a great feeling and I encourage anyone to take a break if you think it might improve your life.

We beat COVID too. My wife finally brought it home from a Christmas party (likely the new variant) she self isolated for 5 days after we got a positive test. We were all vaccinated but I just recently had the booster and never tested positive nor my daughter. Her symptoms were very mild - almost like heavy allergies and she tested negative after 10 days.

Lastly, I’ve been excited with posters mainly by watching more classic films… Found a framer less than a mile away that does large posters. It’s been fun to research and hunt again.

I wish you all the best in the new year and would love to hear how your 2021 went!

  • Congratulations on a challenging but successful 2021, Charlie! Special congratulations on a year of sobriety as well. I had my last drink in 1995, so you have my respect for your efforts and my prayers for your continued strength. May you and your family have a wonderful, prosperous and secure 2022.  :)
  • Just fantastic Charlie! So many well deserved and hard fought accomplishments for you personally and professionally as well as solid family goodness! Here’s to an even better 2022!
  • Hat's off to you Charlie!!!

Yep, I hope everyone has a better year in 2022!
  • Congratulations on what sure sounds like a fulfilling year, Charlie!  Thank goodness on your wife having only mild Covid.  Like many of us, I expect, we lost some friends and neighbors to it along with some family scares.

Nice going on finding a framer you like close to you.  We've also been watching classic movies this past year, including a solid run of Jean Arthur films.

    Happy 2022! Okie
