How can you tell if a set of Lobby Cards are Original or Re-Prints?

Afternoon,

I am looking at a set of of 1956 George Pal The Time machine full set of 8 Lobby Cards. He (The Seller) claims no knowledge of the item, that he is just an Estate sales person and knows nothing about collectibles. He also says he has 3 sets Complete. Are there any tricks, things to know when purchasing Lobby Cards?

I have a few hundred Movie Posters but this would be my first ever Lobby Card purchase.

You could check out this link for images. The type of card they're printed on is important, they should not look too new, it's doubtful cards of that age would look new.

Also look at emovieposter for auction prices.  For a nice condition set of 8, expect to pay $400 to 600.  Not really enough to make pirating them worthwhile.

Make sure they are the right size, 11x14 inches

If you get to see them before purchasing you should be able to tell by the paper quality...if too new, too good to be true.
If the seller has a refund policy and you feel comfortable, you could have a punt, but sounds like he is claiming no responsibility for what he is selling...
