March 2024
Almost at the end of the Month, however, I thought I'd post something Lawrence and a few other John Wayne fans might appreciate.
I picked this up in Brisbane earlier this year. Sadly it was laminated and poorly at that (unfolded flaps/tears and loose debris etc). Anyway, that said, I'm still stoked to add it to my long daybill collection.
From what I can tell from IMDB, Girls Demand Excitement (1931) was John's 2nd credited role and although the artwork (Montgomery Campbell Studio / W.E. Smith) is rather cartoonish rather than a recognizable portrait, I still like it a lot!

The following artwork that was produced by them around the same year as the daybill.
( Everyones / Trove )
At sometime in the past I had thought of covering the Montgomary Campbell Studios output, but has been put om a long waiting list of things still to do. A teaser of some of their excellent daybill designed product follows below
.
If anyone has any questions regarding Montgomery Campbell and his artwork I do have an extensive collection of images so please don't hesitate to enquire with me them on the Hondo's This And That Thread.
