July 2014

edited July 2014 in Recent Acquisitions
And thank goodness my June self imposed 'no buy' directive is over, because as a result I completely ignored that rule and bought quite a few pieces, including this one from 1918 which just arrive by way of Dario. A light restoration, cleaned the tape off, had it washed and put on linen, I left the tears etc round the edges, and asked for extra linen so I can frame it with the mat running to the edge of the poster not over it. It is after all 96 years old, got to have a few wrinkles...

    Quite the ticket David..

Can't match that, but did pick this up, as I'll never own the original....it's the re-release from last year..I think.

  • It's still a Beauty!  Pun intended.
  • Eva (unsensored) came in this morning...  I have a few reproductions but only when totally required.  I'll see if I can snap some pics soon.

I prefer my side boobs to be a bit more curvacious vs. sharp but maybe you're into Madonna as well...
  • Sweet Dame!
  • All cool pickups guys. I am really liking David's new acquisition. Nice fellas.

Ya got me one without even trying, I bought the Godzilla IMAX and gave my friend an extra 20 bucks for any random posters he wanted to send. 5 minutes later he said the Eva was part of the random surprise posters.  woo hoo!

Lets see your vinyl side boob when ya get a chance.  I recently got a Black Widow bus shelter printed on vinyl.  pretty sure its a repro as the seller refunded in full once he was called out on it and the printing isnt sharp along with I have never seen this type of vinyl used.
says its real but his description never stated it was vinyl.  Thanks to Tob for this one!

That's a special piece, for sure.
Originally came from the Regal cinema in Perth. From memory it closed in 1976 & they auctioned off all the old posters.
  • Yup. Thats the one
  • Oh yeah, go Matt  :-bd

  • Good looking trio!
