  • I spot an Ikea chair, only saying that because I have the same one at my place and a Cat scratching post.

I'm guessing you don't have any insulation in your house Lyn? That's what the posters, LC's, stills and photos are for?

  • Mighty Joe is cool! Nice images. The Abbott/Costello & House of Dracula look great as well.
  • Super nice!
  • Pretty cool - do you have wall left Lyn?

Just adds random walls in the house as needed for new posters :)  It's an adventure all in itself!
  • Matt, the chair isn't Ikea but from a finish it yourself store in New Orleans. And the cat tree takes up a lot of room, but hey, it's the cats and they rule. Here in Deutschland most of the construction is stone/cement/brick so extra insulation is a must ;) .

David, I have some space left but I'm saving it for really great posters  :D.

Ves, you are right on.  I have plans to build another short book case and two taller display cases for added poster display space making an island in the room.  The tall cases will be fronted by a half sheet and a one sheet (or so goes the grand plan).
    .

  • Cat tree takes up a lot of room?!

I now have a small desk in my office just so I can make room for the cat-tree, which has slowly morphed over the years into some sort of Frankenstein monster...

Now that's getting all a bit catty...
  • Got to decorate the study on the week-end, still got a bit more filing/putting away to go but sadly with the downsize of house is a loss of my 'poster room' (aka spare bedroom), so it (almost) all has to go into the study - I'll get used to it no doubt.

  • Gotta get me a Juke Girl. Hubba hubba!
  • Awesome David!  (I thought you had the Forbidden Planet restored for some reason?)

Thanks. Nope, as is where possible - I think about a third on the wall are that way.
  • Nice David. Matting seems to give the DB's an extra touch of definition. Lady/Shanghai...:peace:

Well it took me a little over 4 months to complete the circle-but I finally brought home the first poster I linenbacked, framed. I recently discovered that a co-worker's son-in-law owns a local frame shop. He did a very nice job & I couldn't be happier with the results! It makes all the hard work worth it! Granted it's not The Searchers...it's Jimmy Stewart!  =)

  • That is such a great job, well done - excellent skills, looks great framed too.

    Top marks
  • Love it Mark, you get to enjoy this one on so many levels...jimmy...hey i linen backed this! Framing looks top notch.
  • Looks great!
  • Thanks for the good words guys. It is quite a realization of goals that I have & will continue to pursue.

Its just a one-inch black wood frame, with spacers to keep the poster off the glass, but I'm quite excited to finally get this piece up!

Next up for framing will be my Danish, My Fair Lady, which is going to get backed in the next week or two as a birthday gift.
  • I swear this is true, but these are up in the lounge, and I never suggested it!

  • Shit...that looks good!
  • Nah, doesn't look good, looks friggen awesome!

  • Can you have your wife call my wife...  ;) lucky guy...
  • Very nice combo!:plus_one:

    neat oversize chess pieces!
  • Beautiful, I'm going to show that picture to my wife to prove to her that movie posters can make a room look so much better.
