FIRST SIMPSONS POSTER

edited September 2019 in The '90s
I was given a poster by a friend who retired from Fox. He said it was the first poster printed to announce a new show called "The Simpsons". It's dated 1989 and is VERY big: 40" x 50". How can I get it authenticated?

Comments

  • A picture would be a good start... The size seems more a bus stop or something.
  • I don’t see this being a reproduction. There are no authentication services that I know of. It is a really nice poster.
  • Thanks Charlie.  Since I know the guy that gave it to me, I'm confident it's legit.  Unfortunately, if I ever decide to sell it the buyer probably will want more assurance than a heart-warming story!  Thanks again for taking the time to write.

  • Most people who would be interested in buying will put in a bit of legwork of their own regarding the poster, so I wouldn't worry too much.  You would only take the sellers word for something if you know them well I would say.
  • I would love to auction this poster. I think the result would surprise people!

I agree. The Simpsons has been incredibly popular over the years and that poster would have to be the most sought after for collectors.
