A big thank you to those members who have responded so far. Anyone else interested though? If you are interested please let me know here as this project actually getting to happen will depend on this response.
I have removed some unintentionally sent material.
To anyone who may have read my unintended earlier, since deleted posting this morning I wish to state that this was a draft only intended for my eyes only.
Anyone else interested in my toying with the idea of listing 1950's unsighted daybill posters? Members who haven't indicated their interest as yet, and would like for this to happen, please indicate this here as soon as convenient..
I love these sort of treasure hunts. I'm impressed with how many images we, as a group, have been able to unearth and share. I think threads like these really add to the knowledge of collectors.

Encouraging words indeed.
An update regarding my 1950's unsighted daybill poster project that I was toying with starting up. Due to what I consider insufficient numbers of members indicating interest in what what would be a mammoth project for me to tackle, I am holding back from proceeding with it, at least for the foreseeable future. A little more indication of interest from other so far not heard from members would change my mind though. Only three more positive replies will start it happening.
Thanks to all the members who have responded positively to my request. Almost there at the starting point, but still waiting for two more entries to arrive there before a start can commence. .
Thanks Reg for your interest and your kind words. One more show of interest and the project will commence in earnest.
I have over many years compiled lists of films grouped in Australian film distributors for film titles where no Australian daybills have ever been sighted to the best of my knowledge for films where they are known to have been released here. .These lists are regularly adjusted when daybill images surface and these films titles are then removed. and also where a newly discovered titled is added to the lists.
How to approach this assignment has been on my mind for some considerable time. What I have finally decided upon is to group the missing daybill titles into genres. The first genre I intend to tackle will be musical films as I have completed some preliminary work on this genre which is not huge in missing 1950s titles, so I am thinking it will not be too difficult to complete
Before I would tackle a further genre I intend to ask members to determine the genres of their choices, with the most popular ones voted for to be covered in order of members popularity voting..
This project will eventuate. once the final member response is received. Craig where are you buddy? Any one else responding will be appreciated.

Mark ( Pancho ) has covered beautifully the main reasons to have this project happen, so let's make it happen then.
Not much time atm, but will drop in periodically to check on the 1950s project.
Thanks Mark for your support. The ten member target for members to show their support here for the project has been reached.
The thread will make a future appearance here sometime in the future. This project will be a mammoth task to undertake. I am already working on 1950's musical genre film titles This will be be the first genre to tackle and to kick off the thread.
An update on how things are progressing with the missing 1950's daybill project. Actually progress is going well at the present time.
A little glimpse into what you will eventually see when the missing musical genre category is completed to the best of my knowledge. I will mainly include U.S.A. insert poster images where available, or three sheet posters if insert images aren't available as they are most likely to resemble what the missing Australian daybills may look like. If the missing films are from the U.K. or elsewhere, then material from these respective countries will be featured.
A peek into a couple of the film images that will be included follow.
The very well known Carmen Jones and the little known Rhythm Inn.
Interestingly there are three groupings of film titles involved in this 1950s missing daybill musical genre category that I am currently compiling.
Firstly U.S.A. and U.K. films known to have been released in Australia, where no daybills have been sighted, This then being my main focus on the information that I intend to provide here.
Then there are U.S.A. and U.K. films that are not known to have been released in Australia. These are from poverty row studios from America, with the films mainly being from Lippert Pictures that had been released there in the very early 1950s.
There is also a number of foreign language musical films that were released in Australia by some independent film distributors other than Blake, Ray and IFD who distributed some foreign produced musicals that daybills were produced for. These other independent distributors released their product, that were with or without sub-titles at times, to mainly selective venues. A huge Greek film importation into Australia occurred here by Dionysos Films throughout this decade. During their years of operation commencing in the late 1940s and lasting until the late 1970s it was home to Greek cinema made up of at times to some 30 different inner Melbourne city and suburban venues. The Greek film circuit also stretched across regional and metropolitan Australia and into New Zealand. Daybills haven't been sited for this product, so it is not known if any daybills were ever printed or not. I am thinking country of origin posters were imported and used here.
I thought I would throw in that not surprisingly there were not any musical films banned in Australian by the censor in the 1950s.
Just identified another well known musical film released in Australia in the 1950s that certainly appears to be minus a known daybill image. The number of missing titles is growing in number as the researching moves slowly along.
The main purpose of this endeavour is to hopefully once it is completed have a number of titles perhaps stored away somewhere in a collection have their daybill images surface here for all to see.One can only this will happen.
I have just found and confirmed another missing daybill image. Total number found so far is 23 released in Australia films with missing daybills.
There are so far 10 located U.S. and U.K. films that didn't secure an Australian release, including the following obscure Carnival Rock ( 1957 ) Roger Corman film.
This extremely rare Aida ( 1953 ) musical daybill has been spotted as being up for sale at the present time on Google. As it is a lovely Sophia Loren poster, and I have not sighted it previously, I thought I would share it here with you.
I have located another film title and now have 11 U.S. and U.K. films listed that didn't secure an Australian release.
As previously mentioned I have so far found a total number of 23 released in Australia films that have, to the best of my knowledge missing daybills.
I thought that I would update you with my ongoing missing 1950's musical genre daybills project. I have located another 3 film titles for Australian released films missing daybill images, This now makes a total of 26 released in Australia film titles missing daybill images.
The U.S. and U.K. films that didn't secure an Australian release has also increased from 11 to be now being 12
If anyone has a musical film daybill that they are keen on getting there hands on, and haven't ever seen a daybill of this particular title, please inform me the name of the film. This will serve a dual purpose. This information will help me just in case I have missed a title, and also on the other hand inform you that I could a have a daybill image of that title you may be inquiring about. If the latter then happens to be.the case you will be able to see what the daybill image looks like as, I can post the image here for you to see.
.
Sneek peak.Another film missing, to the best of my knowledge, an Australian daybill image is Lilacs In The Spring ( 1954 ) ( aka Let's Make Up in the U.S.A. )
I thought that I would update you with my ongoing missing 1950's musical genre daybills project. I have located another 3 film titles for Australian released films missing daybill images, This now makes a total of 26 released in Australia film titles missing daybill images.
The U.S. and U.K. films that didn't secure an Australian release has also increased from 11 to be now being 12
Another released in Australia film title missing a daybill image was identified. This now makes a total of 27 released in Australia film titles missing Australian daybill images.
The U.S. and U.K. films that didn't secure an Australian release remains at being 12.
There is also a third category of films that I am uncertain if they can be classified as being musicals or not. Main St. To Broadway from 1953 is a good example. Some sources classify the genre as being a musical, but the majority of other sources state other non musical genres, with some also including with music. The remaining majority of sources do not mention any musical content at all in the film's genre classification..
Oh, Rosalinda!! ( 1955 ). Another musical title located where no daybill images has been sighted by me.
This now brings to the best of my knowledge, the total to be 28 released in Australia film titles missing Australian daybill images.
The U.S. and U.K. films that didn't secure an Australian release remains at being 12.
The combined total of the above two categories of missing Australian 1950's genre musical films, that you may have be looking for in some cases, is now 40. There is likely also to be some others that I have yet to identify. The research will continue on. but at a much slower pace.
This project that I am currently working on certainly has to highlight the extent of how many Australian daybills are missing in action., considering I am only covering musical gentre film of only the 1950s
THE MISSING 1950'S MUSICAL FILM GENRE AUSTRALIAN DAYBILL LIST OF TITLES. Released in Australia film titles without any daybill images being located. Calypso Joe Carnival Rock Casa Manana Disc Jockey G.I.Jane Golden Disc, The Holiday Rhythm Panama Sal Paris Follies Of 1956 Rock You Sinners Square Dance Katy Stars In Your Eyes
Four poster images from the above U.K. and the U.S. list that most likely you have never heard of. Two more obscure musical films that I discovered were never released in Australia, but didn't qualify to be included in the above listings have the following images that I thought may interest you. Climb Up The Wall and Girls From The Latin Quarter were both released in the U.K. in 1960,

Here we go then. Have had had the poster image for some time. Origin of where the the poster came from unknown. Looks like probably from John.
