Well done for answering C592. Alec Guinness and Katie Johnson are seen below in the pictured scene. A great classic British Ealing comedy film.

  • Yes, one of the best British films ever. A perfect storm of a cast.

And great direction! And Katie Johnson managed to steal the spotlight from some of the finest actors ever!

The often underrated director (and writer) Alexander Mackendrick also directed four other excellent Ealing films before The Ladykillers These being Whiskey Galore!, The Man In The White Suit, Mandy and The Maggie. In the very late 1950's he directed in the U.S.A. one of my favourite films Sweet Smell Of Success, His 1960's films weren't as good as his 1950's work.

It certainly is the much loved film Up.

Not that one. The film in question has a much happier content than War Games.
  • C595 clue is first of three.
  • Another C595 clue is five.
  • A final clue for C595 is a contest.
  • Tron?

Not that film. The following clue will definitely be my last one.

I will reveal the answer tomorrow if the answer isn't forthcoming by then. The clue is musical.
  • I had thought that the musical clue may have helped, but not to be.

The C595 film in question that I will now reveal is Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory from 1971.

  • That was a tough one!

    Peter
  • I wasn't even close, but recognized the scene once you posted the answer.
  •
So not to neglect the western fans a couple of images from two classic western movies.
Hopefully these two film scenes will be recognised. I do have a feeling that this will be the case.

  •  I am a little surprised that no one has yet managed to find the answers for C596 ( top) and C597 ( bottom).

A clue then is there were eight.
  • Another clue for C596 and C597 is both are connected in two major ways.
