After much effort, 430 is the 1948 movie Command Decision.  That's Clark Gable's arm in the photo.

Correct. Thanks for your perseverance. Yes Clark Gable is seen below, along with Walter Pidgeon and Brian Donlevy.

  • A clue for 429 is a similarity with 430.
  • Another clue for 429 is later a television series with the sane title.
  • Is C429 "12 O'Clock High" 1949

    Peter
  • Is C429 "12 O'Clock High" 1949
It certainly is Twelve O'clock High with Gregory Peck appearing in the enlarged scene, following below. IT would appear that the television series clue did its job.

  • Yes, that clue did it!

    Peter
  • Darn.  That was my first thought, but I couldn't find a match.

You have ended up with providing the two correct answers Ves...The Moon Is Down from 1943 and Immortal Sergeant also from
    1943.

Very curious Ves with Immortal Sergeant, a film showing a scene set in a north African desert being thought of to be The Colditz Story which is set solely in a German castle prisoner of war camp,
  • I did a google image search, hence the cheating...and it popped up being attributed to Colditz...I did no more digging to confirm, as I normally do unfortunately...so after I posted, a kind birdy informed me I was incorrect!

No worries. Google goes include a heap of incorrect information.

    436 is pre Pearl Harbor.
  • After nine days and numerous clues provided it certainly would appear that no answers are to be forthcoming for the two currently featured images.. The results then are as follows.
