Charlie, that doesn't happen for me, when I click on that icon, I just get a single drop down box, and when I put in the url, and click the icon again, it just disappears...
Click the "</>" icon.. not the picture icon.
    I was.
  • I had no trouble posting images before the forum software was upgraded...
  • Luv the music, who is it Charlie?
  • I tried from my Google Drive & couldn't figure it out...frustrated as well...

Posting not working...tried to "upload" didn't work either...
  • You cannot embed an image (or share) from Google Drive as it is a secure 'folder' - you have to make sure the folder the image is in is set as a shared folder. This is not a fault of this site but something Google do to protect your files from being accessed (which is the whole point of it).

    I found this fix:

Personally, that all looks too complicated I would just use Photobucket or a similar photo sharing site rather than those back up systems like Google Drive, or Apple Cloud etc

  • This is the whole point, it's too complicated.

I'm not here to take a course on html, or how to program the space shuttle, I like a bit of poster and film crack, and to see peoples pics, and post a few myself. I don't know any other site that has this chew on...

You can't post (embed) an image from Google Drive online in any forum, so all I was offering was a fix.

The video I made makes it easy to use/understand surely?:

Watch on YouTube if you can't see it (sorry for the small size)

  • Paul I hear ya, I've had troubles myself posting pics but it's the world we live in.

Next time these fuckers wonder why tradies are late to a job.....
  • ....because my box of sparks went missing along with my left handed screwdriver.
  • A forum needs to be an easy place to get around, and use. At the moment this is neither. You guys may have plenty of time to mess around with this stuff, I like many have very limited time to spend on these places, so ease is the key word.
  • I was kidding Paul with my last post and we hear your concerns. Vanilla chopping and changing software is painful to us without notification.

Our best crew is on it...thankfully it ain't me. :s
  • Haha, yes missed the last post Matt.. Oddly I have a Spark container at work..
  • Only one??? ;)
  • Well you have to be careful...
  • @David thanks for the Google Drive directions. Most of my images are on Photobucket-I was uploading a few to a Google Drive just to see if it was any easier. I will continue to try with Photobucket.

I get Paul's frustrations-I'm going to watch Charlie's video (thanks) and try again. I'm using a Mac as well. I may be getting another desktop soon & will likely go PC-maybe easier.

photo 4916F4A2-1B46-44E9-AE4B-59BA08A36B86_zpsazeppl7bjpg Belgian-Bridge at Remagan...pasted from my iPhone-the <\> symbol is the one to use to paste.
  • this only works Charlies way.. photo PICT1198_zpsj1sen0u9jpg But it's still too much twating on..
  • I'm like a fellow possessed..... photo PICT0192_zps6f7e8effjpg
  • The thing is, the spacing between the pic and the words does not stay the same as I want it to, or even as I've done it...
  • Crickey here I go again, posting pics of our hosts.... photo PICT0209_zps847c07e1jpg
  • Paul? What's wrong with twating?...love the green on the Night/Eagle! Is the picture of the hosts from the VMPF establishment mtg last year? =)
  • I use Imageshack to host my photos. So I just "copy" my photo from my account base and then "paste" in the "Leave a Comment" here on this site and it appears straight away. Should work with most image hosting sites and any website that allows hot linking.

  • I think my computer is throwing a hissy fit when viewing images, or perhaps Norton is blocing some IPs...grrr
