  • Welcome all!

  • Just joined looking to expand my knowledge and hobby/business into poster restoration.
I sell/collect mostly screen prints and some vintage, but looking to go head deep into vintage after not collecting for a number of years. So just trying to find out how to do things... tips tricks etc.

Hello Bethemonkey, we have a few Canadians on board, so welcome!

I am sure you will find plenty of helpful answers here to your own restoration questions.
  • Welcome to the forum, Bethemonkey!
  • Welcome aboard Monkey!
  • Hi, I'm a big movie fan from the US, and as my name implies, I'm a Clint Eastwood fan.

I was wondering if it's possible to send private messages on this board...
  • Yep... Just click on the person's icon and then under the map on the right is the message button.

I'm a friend of Clintfan.  My name is Matt, but since you already have a Matt, I went with a Clint Eastwood character. I'm from the U.S.
  • Hi Matt!  There always seem to be a lot of Matts.
  • Howdy Matt...!

  • Antimatter is material composed of antiparticles, which have the same mass as particles of ordinary matter but opposite charges, as well as other particle properties such as lepton and baryon numbers and quantum spin.

    That's this forum sometimes...
  • Hi,
I'm new to this forum but I can't seem to upload some photo's. Whenever I press attach file it gives me an URL and even with google photo's it won't work.
    Little help please :)
  • WELCOME!  Can't wait to see what you have to show us.

I've never used google photo's...maybe someone can help you out on that one, but photobucket seems to work just fine for me...use the direct link...

  • When you load your image into the image bar, what works for me is you then hit the space bar, and it should load up..

And welcome, hope you sort the problem out soon, always nice to see what others have...
  • Welcome!
  • Well that's weird. Whenever I try it here I just get 'image URL' and when I start a new topic then it works fine. :s
  • Hi everyone, I am glad to have found this site. My name is Rob and I live in northern Minnesota. My grandfather used to work in Winnipeg for the Universal and RKO branches there and went on to book theaters across Canada at Rothstein Theaters, a Canadian chain. When I was 6, I went into his offices and saw hundreds of movie posters, lobbies, but what really interested me were the pressbooks. He would give me some of them and I would read them and cut ads out for my "imaginary" theater schedule. I know it was 1968 because he gave me a package that contained "Green Slime" as the movie had just come out.

Since then I have concentrated only on pressbooks and as of last week, when I updated my database, I now have 14,076 pressbooks from the 20's through around 1983, when they stopped making them. I constantly search for titles not already in my collection amd have bought "lots" and singles, and really love my hobby. The only ones I have ever sold were titles I had doubles and triples, ect. I mainly collect.
  • Welcome aboard. Do you have any pressbooks for any films made in Australia and if so do you have a list of the titles to share with those of us down under?
  • Thanks for the welcome! With over 14,000, it's hard to know lol. You would have to list the titles. All of mine are U.S. pressbooks except maybe for 30-40 U.K. editions, but I may have U.S. pressbooks of Austrailian films released here.

Maybe you can help, I am trying to post an ad in the wanted section for pressbooks, I am always looking to add more, but I cannot select that category. Am I doing something wrong? Do you know of anyone selling them?

Shoot me a list and I can check my database.

I am hoping to post some of my best pressbooks on here.
  • Before I reply to your questions would you please advise roughly what decades the pressbooks come from?
