Bollywood is the nickname for the Hindi language film industry, based in Mumbai, India; it is also the 'catch-all' phrase for all Indian cinema. However, it is only a part of the film industry, which includes other production centres producing films in many languages. Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in India and the world.
Hand painted Bollywood film posters appeared in the 1920s, the oldest surviving hand painted movie poster for the 1924 Marathi movie, Kalyan Khajina.
