It certainly is The Hill ( 1965 ). The two Sir's clue referred to Michael Redgrave and Sean Connery. Michael Redgrave was a Sir at the time and billed as such on the below quad poster. In my original posted image and the complete version I have now included he appears front and centre, with Sean lying on the bed. Sean Connery was knighted in 2000.
Due to finding there is still some considerable interest in this genre, and the fact that I have been slack in including many images of this genre of film in the A Do You Know Your Classic Film Quiz, I intend to rectify this by bringing back this previously popular thread which has been my third most popular thread on the forum.
