    Is C383 Butch Cassidy?
Not that one. Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid starred two screen legends. The film here under scrutiny starred a screen legend also.

  • C382 clue is that there was also a television series adaptation of this film released in the following decade. This version was then followed, by an inferior theatrical released remake later on in the same decade. All three versions were filmed by the same Hollywood studio.

C383 clue is that a multi talented legend  involved.
  • I am led to believe from previous conversations that there aren't too many western film fans here on the forum.

To try and wrap up the two current unanswered entries then, some assistance I will now provide below.

     C382
Some F.L. involvement in the film.

     C383
    In control at all times.
  • C382 is Man Without a Star (1955), but found with image search

Correct and thanks for persevering. My earlier clue of F.L. was referring to the singer Frankie Laine who sang the opening title song.

This film was later remade, firstly as a 1963 episode of The Virginian ( 1962-1971 ) television series titled Duel At Shiloh, then as a 1968 theatrical film called A Man Called Gannon.

  • ' C383
A slightly expanded image that I am hoping will be help in assisting one to find the answer.

  • That helps.  Pale Rider

  • jayn_j said:

Correct for C383. Always happy to assist. Pale Rider from 1985.

Actor John Russell seen below at the receiving end of Clint's justice..

  • Oh gees.  Need to rewatch this one then, I didnt pick it at all!
  •  C384  C385
A couple of interesting images to work on solving this time around.
  • I'm thinking C384 is surely Elmer Gantry. Not many classic movies about gospel revival meetings!

Yes of course it is Elmer Gantry from 1960. Perhaps I should have left the Kingdom Of God sign off my posted image.

Actually at the moment I can only think of one other film in this genre , with this being Angel Baby from 1961.

  • A clue for C385 is that I am certain that this film wouldn't immediately spring to mind when thinking about World War 11 set films,

Although from a major Hollywood studio and starring a big name, I would say that this film is most likely a little forgotten about one these days.
  • Is C385 The Young Lions?

  • It isn't that one. A clue is known for gangster roles.
  •   C385
I had thought that the above film scene would prove to be a difficult one to identify, and almost didn't include it here.

Some assistance then is that the film is a World War 11 spy film.
  • I am thinking Cy385 is 13 Rue Madelaine.

When I was a teen I tried to see EVERY James Cagney movie (really hard pre-video), and I REALLY liked this one (especially of course the ending).

Correct. 13 Rue Madeleine from 1947.

I like Jimmy as well. Probably of all the films that I have seen of his White Heat would be my favourite.

White Heat is brilliant. I read once where Cagney said that when he got the script it was a standard crime movie, and that he said to director Raoul Walsh, "Why don't we make the main character a psycho?" and that the script was re-written, and if that is true it was a brilliant change!

Yes I certainly do agree that White Heat is a brilliant film. So many scenes remain in one's memory, but the following one appearing at the end of the films tops them all.

  •  C386
      C387
     C388
Three new images showing scenes of structures, either man-made or natural, serving the same purpose..

It is indeed. The Bridges Of Madison County from 1995.

     C388

C387 clue is that the image is not the genre of film normally presented here on this quiz,

C388 clue is a classic story adapted for both the cinema and television in various forms over many years.
  • C387 - My first hunch which I'll go with is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

    Peter
  • C387 - My first hunch which I'll go with is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
Correct, your hunch was spot on . I will throw in an animated film image from time to time.

  • MAybe C388 is

The Bridge of San Luis Rey

A good guess, but the bridge pictured in the image is situated geographically much further north in the film.
  •
A final C388 clue is One of a series of five American historically set novels that was adapted to the screen.

  • A Bonus C388 clue to hopefully wrap this one up.
