  • Thanks Ves. The daybill is exceptionally stunning. It is certainly superior to the o.k. designed  F, Cunninghame one sheet.
  •  X96  X97
There is a connection involved with these two images.
  • X96.  An image search says Press For Time starring Norman Wisdom.  Never heard of it, but it appears to be one of a series of sex farces.

Correct . Press For Time from 1966.

I need to correct you though on the genre of film. Norman Wisdom was a popular British comedian in film during the 1950's and 1960's. Well known in the U.K. and the British commomwealth countries, but not so much in the U.S.A. The film is a comedy that was rated U ( Universal - suitable for all ) in the U.K., and For general exhibition in Australia. My pictured image was a beauty contest scene only.

  •  X97
A couple of clues to hopefully assist you are that this actress worked in a lot of comedy films in the early part of her screen career. Sadly she died at a young age.

Ok, stumped.  It looks like Judy Holliday and your clue definitely points that way.  But very little of her work was B movies, and I can't find an image. Phfft or Full of Life?
  • The actress isn't American but is English. if that helps. Being in the U.S.A. proved fatal for her.
  • A final clue for X97 is that also in the pictured scene is one of Britain's top comedians.
  • Surprised that with my clues no one has yet managed to come up with the answer for this film .I will now reveal the answer to be Who Done It? an English film from 1956, and one of the last Ealing films to be distributed by Rank Film Distributors.

The pictured actress being Belinda Lee seen below with Benny Hill in the film. Belinda was killed in a car crash in California U.S.A. in 1961. She was only 25 years of age.

  • It's funny, I was just looking at that poster the other day!

Correct. Lori Nelson pictured in the car had previously been signed with Universal- International in the early 1950's, but later her contract wasn't renewed, After this her future film roles were downgraded to acting in B grade films like this AIP effort.

  •   X101
A very well known actress who appeared in many b movies over many decades.
  • X101 is Hellfire.

I must confess I am not a fan of 1940s and 1950s B-Westerns, because most are very similar plots, but I happened to catch this movie one day and thought it excellent, especially the ending!

Correct. Hellfire from 1949. Marie Windsor was apparently called the Queen of the Bs at one time or another.

I remember her mainly for the roles that she played in The Narrow Margin ( 1952 ) and  Stanley Kubrick's The Killing ( 1957 ). I have never seen Hellfire though.

Partly correct only Bruce. You guessed the correct actress, but not the right film. The film to be answered was released a little later in time.
  • Must be The Alligator People then (1959)
