Heritage are advertising the poster as being 14.5'' X 30''. Bruce has two images of the Black Friday daybill that were sold on his website in the past as having been described as 15'' x 40'' and 14 3/ 4'' x 40''.
I don't think anyone can read anything into the description until the poster is uploaded, at the moment I suspect that is just a placeholder until the photo is supplied at which time the measurements are made.
Slightly in defence of Heritage, it could be argued that the poster is for the official 1968 release albeit delayed in Australia. Note the tagline "the original uncut version - unseen for 35 years". The Australian posters were obviously printed for a screening in Australia until about 1972/2 but it does correspond with the US release.
Also, Heritage puts the year of the films release in the title (as many sellers do) but the descriptions are noting the date as either "pre war" or "post war" meaning that they are not going to pin down the actual date of Australian release which is often different to US release dates.
Never seen one of these before, and judging by the current bidding nor have many others
For some reason Australian long daybills printed for Columbia Pictures are probably the rarest of the major film distributors from that period to locate and don't often appear for sale.
Nah, I never liked that poster (sorry sue me - though I am told it is fabulous in person - so if I ever see one, might change my mind)
I wonder how much my distaste for the poster is based on the fact that I can't stand her in that movie...haven't made it through the whole thing till this day...and before you kill me, I LOVE her...she is fantabulous in Streetcar! Just shows what a superb actress she was to garner such strong emotion from me. Believe, my response to the vast number of movies and characters is...meh...
