Thanks for the kind words. My wife has helped me see colors better as they often overlap...like most, were busy with life, work, kids... and this is certainly a fun thing to do together.

Working at night, with lamps around the table it's easier, but will need to set up some sort of wall easel for day work with the window behind it, or lamps facing the wall easel...The back does take a beating after leaning over for so long...
I completed the missing paper infill yesterday-attempted to get all pieces in last Sunday, but 3 were too large. Thinking either by my cut or the paper swelled, which i'm guessing it does, then shrinks back some as it dries, but I wasn't happy with the fit on three, and did not place them.
Hoping this weekend to find some time to color/paint/pencil her dress and the top fold line, then air brush the tape stain if needed, then spray the borders in an attempt to get the color more uniform.

So the remaining three pieces were placed a few days ago, and I removed the tape. -pieces not cut perfect, but much better. A few are too white but should match when the borders are sprayed.

This is really good. Do you know how much time you spend on these kind of posters on average ? Just curious...
Thanks Rosa- this Seven Brides poster has certainly been my best learning experience! Ive been happy with some of my results and disappointed with others.
Ive haven't kept track of my time spent, but would guess a professional would take maybe 4-hours?...to complete the pencil, paper infill, painting & air brushing?
Latest progress picture. I airbrushed the borders today. I mixed a slightly off white-didn't want to spray what would look like an "artificial" white in the border. The results speak for themselves---the paper infill that matched the paper had good results, otherwise it stands out much to my disappointment.
Overall, have to be happy with my first major infill replacement for borders and airbrush application to create uniformity. I also realize that a frame will cover 1/2 to 2/3rds of the border.
I still have a few small areas to pencil-in some of the fold lines, especially the upper right which had dark tape stains and I was able to moderately cover.
* poster covered up prior to airbrushing the borders- liquid frisket was used on the small NSS writing at the bottom.
*Poster after border airbrushed. Again some areas came out fine-others need a better match on the paper. Big learning experience on airbrushing borders. Liquid frisket came off great and worked well!
A few touchups to the fold lines, and it will be cut down and trimmed in the next few days.
Backed this early this morning before Sunday relaxation. It had no real pre-wash issues, just some light toning along the upper vertical fold line, very minor separation along the center cross folds and minimal image erosion in mostly the bottom fold line. No bleaching, just a long deacidification soak and buffer. Future gift-it should turn out nice.

Hoping to get some work done this weekend on Seven Brides...it will need more restoration of course, but a plan is in place...

I'm guessing you remember the video. All he did was about 20cm just to show me how, it was left au natural for the rest.
