To switch things up and not hog the recent acquisitions threads (us newbies are such a pain) here's some recently framed stuff. I'll have more framed stuff to post, but this is a good start.
Thanks, Charlie. I figured that’s where most of the pics would go, since 90% of it is unframed/loose posters. I’m procrastinating copying all my pics back from greedybucket, but the sooner I do, the sooner I can start a collection thread. Since we all like to see stuff framed, I thought I’d post that stuff here, so it didn’t get lost in the collection thread.

Daybills? Oh yeah, those things that the sea bass (with frickin' lasers attached to their heads) come wrapped in from the fish market. Seemed a shame to just throw 'em away. Thanks for the kind words, guys!
Here's a few more framed delights to either start or end your day with (depending on where gravity holds you to the planet).
This was the frame I used for Reckless Age, as purchased. I was able to reuse the mat by re-cutting it.
Here's the Girls' Cinema magazines framed. Most frames I use are thrift store purchased, so like this one, the size isn't always exactly ideal.
Dangerous Blondes window card.
And lastly for now, The Violators insert, which imo, is the best paper for the title (I also have the daybill and one sheet).
Great framing! in fact its quite an interesting way to frame; buy using a somewhat unconventional frame-not just a standard black frame, it gives the poster a more "antique" or "worn" look? IMO.
yeah, The Violators seems to have it all!; the dame, the colorful artwork at the bottom and 2- black and white images; and of course, a classic tag-line.
Thanks, Mark. Hopefully without sounding like a whiner, the thrift store frames are an economic necessity. Store-bought frames are too expensive and usually crap quality anyway. Matting is fairly cheap, and if the backing isn’t reusable, I just use white foamcore from the dollar store. I keep a list of posters (and their dimensions) I’d like to frame on my phone, and always carry a tape measure when thrift store shopping. So far my best luck has been at goodwill stores around the Nashville area. That’s not a trip made often, but it’s handy when I can. Other than that, I had to buy a mat cutter and a fitting tool, and I’m off to mega-amateur framing land!
The Girls of Cinema are gorgeous...and i think the non-stock standard frame adds to its gorgeous appearance. You sound extremely organised! You can come and sort out my mess any time! As my daughter says, you are a "clever clops".
I let somebody (some-thing, actually) else do the calculating, Chris. Logan, the folks that make picture framing tools, have a border calculator app, that also has a fraction conversion chart. You enter the frame width and height, and then the dimensions of the item to be matted, and it figures out the rest for you. I'll take a pic of how I cut 'em and post it here. It's pretty low tech, but it seems to work okay. I've been too chicken to try double matting and fancy stuff like that, but I'll get there.
Thanks, Ves! I thought of you right from when I bought those 3 and wondered if you'd appreciate 'em. I'm glad you do. I think the frame is a bit wide for them, but I'll leave it for now. With regards to organization, I am so not your guy. Controlled chaos is more my speed.
And just so y'all didn't drop by for nothing, I swapped out the Danish Prostitution poster and the Love Hungry ad for this Danish International Lady and Belgian Once A Thief.
The Lady is loverly....has inspired me to kick on with my swap out. Did one but lost my mojo while waiting on a couple things to come in. Might try and find some time this weekend.
You got that right, Matt. And you know it’ll be something mind blowing too, like the recently discussed Metropolis daybills, a King Kong long daybill or 2 and maybe some early Lon Chaney material.
Thanks again, Mark. In my experience, some goodwills price everything like it’s gold, and others price stuff like they can’t wait to get rid of it. Ultimately tho, it makes for an interesting treasure hunt if you’re into that sorta thing, and a pleasant day out with a bite to eat somewhere in the journey.
Chris, here's a really abbreviated version of the mat cutting process I use. As mentioned, I plug the info into the border calculator app, and then I just measure in from the edge what it told me to and draw guide lines. After I draw the lines, I usually lay the poster down on the back of the matting to kind of eyeball and make sure the lines/cuts look like they'll work.
After that, I use a 4 foot (1.2 meter) ruler and clamp it down along the line and go ahead and make the cut. 3 more cuts and it's done. I'm just posting this stuff to show that my tools are inexpensive and really low tech, but seem to work fine for the basic stuff I do.
With any luck, it turns out decent. This is leftover pink matting from the Danish Prostitution 1 sheet and a $14 walmart 18x24 frame.

At the risk of hogging the thread (feel free to tell me to back off if need be - I just have a lot of framed stuff that's always moving and changing) here's an area where the computer desk used to be, but it got repurposed as a sitting/reading area, and the Mrs requested these previously framed posters go on the walls.
Here's the individual posters:
Are These Our Parents? Belgian:
Playgirl window card (trimmed before I purchased it):
Yeah, I was introduced to Shelley Winters via The Poseidon Adventure. That's a distinctly different SW than Playgirl, South Sea Sinner, etc! Hubba hubba!

I've gotta work on the matting materials and start hitting Goodwill as their are a few within 10 miles of me.

Boy will you two be disappointed!
