  • Thank you, kind sir. I just revisited a couple of your last posts on your thread with pics of what's on your walls, and I have a long way to go to achieve any levels of MAGG awesomeness. Yowzers.
  • Thank YOU, kind sir.
  • nice pick ups and thanks Hondo for the image of the Aussie Running wild. If anyone has one oif those for sale I'd be keen, It's a lot nicer than our daybill. I have the US one-sheet which i agree is the best image
  • Thanks, Rick. It's difficult to follow your new stuff or that of Mr Paisley and MAGG, but I'll just slip these couple new ones in under the radar. This first one was super inexpensive and I'm a 50's 3D geek, so I felt the compulsion to pick it up. It once again brings about the need to look up the threads on snipe removal and stuff like bestine. I haven't sourced any or tried it yet, but maybe it's time. I've got a handful of sniped 3D posters like this one that could use it.

And unintentionally I'm continuing the devil theme. Maybe the title of this pressbook explains how he got to the canyon bearing his name.

Since the picture is so huge, I'll skip posting pics of the inside, but fortunately it's complete and uncut. That's all for now. Thanks for having a look.
  • Look at you, back in action already! I, of course, dig the 3D title the most. Where is the snipe? The box under her foot? Never heard of DEVIL ON WHEELS. Is it your life story?  Vroom vroom!! It's one of the most exploitable pictures in years." Wow! I'm sold. Congratulations!
  • Thanks, man. The snipe is at the very top. You can see a bit of it folded over to the right of her head. Devil On Wheels has two trivial distinctions (and possibly more). It's the first feature film about them danged teenagers and their hot rods (1947). Hot Rod, which is slightly better known but has the same type subject matter, was released in 1950. IMDB trivia says that film historians claim this is the first film to feature female leads in bikini tops. With all the jungle themed films that came before it, I'd find this a tad hard to believe. Also, someone contributed to IMDB with the opinion that Devil On Wheels may be the first instance of someone exclaiming "groovy" in a movie (used in this instance to describe a new car the character's father had bought).

  • Little known actress Noreen Nash who starred in The Devil On Wheels, in a scene from her most likely remembered film Phantom From Space ( 1953 ),
  •  Devil On Wheels may be the first instance of someone exclaiming "groovy" in a movie (used in this instance to describe a new car the character's father had bought).
    GROOVY!!!

    Congrats on both again.
  • Groovy Indeed!  Here’s an example of an unused (thankfully) snipe for my Devil’s Canyon 3 Sheet.
  • Rockabilly, like you I’m a 3-D Geek, I’ve tried to remove snipes with so-so results. I had some luck using Un-Du Adhesive Remover.
  • Oh yeah! With movie posters, SIZE MATTERS! Nice 3 sheet! With regards to 3 sheets for 3D movies, I think the only ones I have are Man In The Dark and Hannah Lee.
  • 50s was the best era for posters!

U.S.A. perhaps but not in Australia. The end of the 1940's on a whole ended our golden period of poster excellence..
  • Stains? Check. Lengthy tears? Check. Appearance that of some taped together Frankenstein of a poster? Check. Purchased for less than the cost of a fast food meal? Check. One more battle scarred poster for me to love? Also check. More AIP goodness. Originally on a double bill with Runaway Daughters. Oh yeah.

And lest ye think that's all the excitement the new additions to the rock-o-collection can offer, I present to you a film/poster I know nothing about, but it's got cool art featuring the prerequisite ne'er-do-well teens and a Vespa scooter. Totally an impulse buy on the cheap.

  • You're a hip cool-cat, Daddy-O. I dig the paper, man. Good work.   :)
  • Shake, Rattle and Rockabilly strikes again with more swinging hits. Nice work man!

Wheels and heels, mate. All you need

    Amen, brother. Amen.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
  • No heels here, but more wheels. The description of this was that it's a double sided 1 sheet. It's a super craptastic seller's photo (and I even cropped some of the unnecessary crap from it), so fingers crossed it arrives as advertised. If so, I'll have scored a slightly hard to find US poster for a decent price. Fun fact: for a brief time in 2006-2007 I worked for Carroll Shelby at Shelby American just outside of Vegas. Good times.

  • I'm not much of a car guy (What?!? Sacrilege!), but if it floats your boat (inflates your tires, perhaps?) and you dig it---groovy. Congratulations!

I have no issue with that at all. If you were a car guy, we'd be competing for the same posters! I'm happy to have as limited an amount of competition as possible.  :) Besides, somebody has to be the monster/horror guy, and that's not me. Thank heavens it's you, as you definitely do those posters justice.
  • What?  Worked for Shelby?  Details...I need details!

I had to google the guy. Shows how much I know about cars... 🤷‍♂️

The job title they gave me was vehicle inventory manager, and I worked for them during their production run of 2007 Shelby GT Mustangs.

In a past life (about 15 years or so ago), I used to be a writer for a newspaper in the McClatchy chain (Fresno Bee). I actually know who Shelby is as I had to do an article (Me the guy who knows nothing about cars) on him for the paper's glassy monthly magazine. Don't ask me to recite any of it now...all I know is his name (not many guys named Carroll out there, although my father is Carol) and that he was known for certain types of Mustangs (I think) and, I want to say, the car (or similar car) to the white car with the snake(s?) that Farrah Fawcett drove on CHARLIE'S ANGELS, maybe? I'm hopelessly clueless.
  • Shake, Rattle and Rock looks good no matter what the condition
  • These aren't the older style that I'd prefer which have a different font and are usually red and white if memory serves, but they're pretty cool and I'll see if any of them fit well in frames with window cards or Belgian posters.

Dang man!!! You are always full of surprise's!
  • I left to support the ex-Mrs' career. With how things ultimately worked out in that relationship, I should've stayed with Shelby.  ;)
