It certainly is The Hill  ( 1965 ). The two Sir's clue referred to  Michael Redgrave and Sean Connery. Michael Redgrave was a Sir at the time and billed as such on the below quad poster. In my original posted image and the complete version I have now included he appears front  and centre, with Sean lying on the bed. Sean Connery was knighted in 2000.

Due to finding there is still some considerable interest in this genre, and the fact that I have been slack in including many images of this genre of film in the A Do You Know Your Classic Film Quiz, I intend to rectify this by bringing back this previously popular thread which has been my third most popular thread on the forum.

This thread will return shortly, and we will see how it fares. It will rotate with my other two quizzes A Do you Know Your Classic Movies Quiz and Actresses Legs Quiz, with only two quizzes being active at the same time.

  •  378 379
    How about these two then?
  • 378.  I phoned a friend and he said Dam Busters.
  • 379.  My friend phoned back and said Angels One Five
  • 378.  I phoned a friend and he said Dam Busters.
Correct. The Dam Busters from 1955. My posted image was a repeat entry used previously on this quiz.
    .

    379.  My friend phoned back and said Angels One Five
Also correct. Angel One-Five from 1952.

Any chance getting your friend interested and involved in this quiz himself.. A good source for yourself to use in future though.
  • I did ask him to participate but he's a bit busy...maybe in the future...I'll keep prodding.  Definately his genre of film.

A fast start so far to the revival of this quiz.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                   380 381
Two new entries here with an easy one, and the other I consider to be a more obscure image.
  • 380 Stalag 17...didnt need to phone a friend on this one
  • 380 Stalag 17...didnt need to phone a friend on this one
Yes indeed it is Stalag 17 from 1953.

  • 381 is Halls of Montezuma.  I think they showed that every other week during the afternoon in the early 60s on TV

Correct and well remembered. Halls Of Montezuma from 1951.

The soldier featured in my posted image was played by Neville Brand. He won numerous awards for his service in World War 11, including the Silver Star medal, the United States Armed Force's third highest decoration for valor in combat.

  •  382  383
Let's see how these two new images fare.
  • 382 Saving Private Ryan?
  • Rick said:
    382 Saving Private Ryan?
Not that one. This film is set in another war.

Clue for both 382 and 383 is journey.
  • I initially thought 383 was The Bridges of Toko-Ri, but further searching says it is The Mountain Road from 1960.  I recall it being really good.

Correct. James Stewart and Lisa Lu appear in my posted earlier image and the poster below.

This film was made and released much later than the majority of the films that are usually featured here on this quiz,
