Zowie! Thanks for sharing. That daybill is sharp. I think I might like it better than the one sheet. The image of just Karloff alone makes it very clean…not crowded like the one sheet. THANK YOU!
  • Some great pick-ups there. Interesting about the reduced price for King Kong. I'm seeing a lot of older material heading down in price, but i would have thought King Kong would still be up there.

    Hi Rick!
I was flabbergasted when I won. How could that be???? Ugh! I am hoping that if I sell my other one it will get some decent cash. With my dumb luck, I’ll sell it and STILL have to pay for it somehow… Ha!
thanks for saying hello and taking a peek. Cheers!

Welcome back…#*$@!!!  What am I doing back here so soon? I don’t know… I don’t know what is wrong with me. I am so beyond broke. Two longtime friends just died with in a few days of each other of cancer—one of them a year younger than me with basically the same cancer I have/had. I am still undergoing treatments  for my cancer and as I write this, I just don’t feel right. And yet here I am with another batch of new (to me ) posters. What am I doing? I have NO IDEA… Grr!

I know you probably hit the snack bar to have something fun to do while you sit through one of my dreary Shock-O-Rama poster shows. This will be quick because the titles just aren’t that exciting. Your snack bar treats won’t even be cold by the time we get through. Promise!

Anyway, let’s get this over with…

    CAT VIDEO FEST 2024:

Yes, this is apparently a real poster from a real theatrical event. Why would I buy this? I’ll never hang it. I don’t know. I just don’t know. I don’t even have a cat. I’m more of a dog person. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

    BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR:
In my last post, I had posted the video sheet for this film, thinking the film had gone straight to video. D’oh! Apparently, I’m stupid and it did play theatrically as this one sheet proves. Not that I needed it, but I decided to replace the video one sheet with this theatrical one.

    TUMMY TROUBLE:
I don’t know what I was thinking buying this Roger Rabbit poster. I didn’t need it and will never display it. However, I do think Disney was wrong in stopping the Roger Rabbit cartoon series. How many are there anyway? Two? Three? After the hit film (WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT) and the ride at Disneyland’s Toon Town, you would think they would try to keep the property alive better. I have a feeling Roger Rabbit is doomed to be forgotten in the bigger scheme of Disney things.
    THE LOVE WITCH:
I already have a copy. Did I need another? No. Will I ever hang it? No. Did I ever see the movie? No.

    10 TO MIDNIGHT:
I don’t know why I bought this poster other than some guy on YouTube was talking about his poster collection and mentioned having this poster, which is a nothing poster really. It’s not highly sought after or anything. I did see the movie a couple of times and it was actually kind of good (in a sleazy way). I think I just got it though because the guy on YouTube had one and I thought I needed one too, for some reason. I probably already have one. Who knows? But the title, 10 to Midnight…  Is that saying 10 PM to midnight or is that saying 10 minutes to midnight? I don’t really know. Does it matter? And isn’t it stupid that that’s what I’m walking away with after buying this poster… The questions about the title and what it means exactly. Whoopie…

    BREAKUP AT A WEDDING:
I have no idea what this movie is and I know nothing about it. I have no idea why I picked this up. None. Or maybe I was padding out shipping costs? That’s probably it.

TERROR EN EL ESPACIO (PLANET OF THE. VAMPIRES) (Spain):
I did not need this Spanish copy of Mario Bava’s PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES. I already have the US one sheet. This wasn’t that expensive, but I’ll never display it and I just didn’t need it. It’s not that exciting anyway.

    PROFECIA DIABOLICA (THE EVIL) (Spain):
THE EVIL is kind of an underrated and forgotten horror flick from the 1970s. I didn’t need this poster though. I already have the US one sheet… Even though it’s not that exciting.

    THE INVISIBLE BOY (re-release):
I don’t know why I bought this kiddie matinee re-release poster for THE INVISIBLE BOY. I already have a copy, and I know I will never display it. Despite the appearance of Robby the robot on the poster it’s just not something I can see ever being on my walls. I’ve never even seen the movie.

    FLASH GORDON (Italian):
This is the Cracker Jack prize in this batch… at least for me. I have long wanted this FLASH GORDON Italian poster. I might actually already have a copy. That wouldn’t be a surprise really. This is a nice poster though. Will it ever be framed and hung? Probably not, but it has a better chance than the other ones from this post.

And that makes 10. I told you this was a no frills (and QUICK!) poster show. Now get back to enjoying your snack bar treats!
    CHEERS!
  • Your posters are always interesting to have a look at, and they do include some very obscure film posters images.

Over the years you have educated me about the existence of many very obscure films.

All the best outcome with your health problems.

No worries. It gave a chance to see I somehow wrote Condo (spellcheck?) instead of Hondo. Sorry. My bad.

Hi there. Welcome back. Yes, I’m back again. And I know it hasn’t been that long…  I don’t know what my problem is. I have been buying posters… and, for the most part, not that good of posters… like a mad man; like I have any money at all. Ugh!!! Someone slap me upside the head—PLEASE! What is wrong with me? This HAS to stop!

But we’re here… We might as well take a look while I try to calm down. (But that won’t be easy. I think I already have enough for still another post right after this one… Or soon after! Damn! And Damn me!) Take your seats. The show begins now….

    THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE:

I love me some Brady Bunch. The movie version, at least this first one, was great. I already have a copy of this poster… (Maybe more than one?) However, when I was going through my posters recently, trying to get them organized, I discovered that my copy of the poster (at least the one I came across—as I said, I may have others) was (GASP!) FOLDED! How could that be? Just in case I don’t have another copy I wanted an unfolded copy. I always thought the poster could’ve been so much better than this. The poster for the sequel was a little better. Neither will ever be hung though. But whatever. It’s still The Brady Bunch.

    SCOOBY DOO (International):

I have always been a big fan of SCOOBY DOO. When they announced the live action movie, I was skeptical. However, when it finally came out, I actually liked it. I thought the cast did a great job bringing cartoon characters to live. I also thought that the villain, once unmasked, was brilliant. The sequel was… kind of lame. (Ruh-Roh) I think it ruined the franchise. It must’ve because the next live action one was a direct-to-video prequel…that I don’t think I’ve even watched yet. I may have this poster already. I know I have the US poster and this one looks kind of familiar now that I already have it. Oh well. It, like the other Scooby posters, will not be displayed. My favorite Scooby Doo poster was the one SCOOBY DOO ON ZOMBIE ISLAND. If any of them go up, that one will. I used to have it up at my old house. But this one’s kinda nice too… It’s just not Zombie Island nice.

    NIGHTMARE ALLEY:
This is another lame example of floating heads on a poster via Photoshop. At least these floating heads have bodies attached, but it’s still a boring poster. Why buy it? Although I have never seen the movie, is by Director Guillermo Del Toro. His work is always interesting, even if it’s not my thing. I just hope this movie, which I know is a bomb, is better than this poster makes it look. Anyone see this? Is it worth my time to track down? Hopefully the movie is good. I just can’t believe the poster is so… blah.

    TINTORERA:

How many copies of this poster do I have? Two? Three? Here’s another one. This movie is the worst of the worst as far as JAWS ripoffs go. However, the poster art has always been one of my favorites in the shark genre. I mean, the JAWS posters had the shark approaching their victims, but this one has the shark with the victim in its mouth. Oh my stars! Unfortunately, nothing like that happens in the film. The movie is so dull, even the shark seems to fall asleep. Starring Susan George towards the end of her career as a leading lady (this is a pretty low point) and a pre-THREE’S COMPANY Priscilla Barnes. Also starring genre faves, Andres Garcia and Hugo Stiglitz.

    BLOOD BEACH:

Just when you thought it was safe to read the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show… it’s BLOOD BEACH. I already have a copy of BLOOD BEACH, at least I think I do. Something in my head tells me that the copy I have is messed up. So I wanted another one just to be sure… The movie didn’t do much for me when I saw it in the theaters back in the day. However, with that JAWS 2 tagline riff and the accompanying poster art, there’s something about the poster that just works.

    AMIN: THE RISE AND FALL:

I already have one of these…but I picked up another as they seem to be pretty rare. This is an ugly, shocking exploitation flick (although not as horrible as what went on under Amin, I’m sure)…that surprisingly has fallen through the cracks. (I’ve only ever seen it on a bootleg DVD years ago.) At this late date, I don’t remember much at all—just maybe some body parts in a refrigerator and that sensation that you need to take a shower you get after watching some of the most exploitatively sick and disturbing movies out there. (Or maybe I’m remembering something else?) Whatever the case—rare poster. Glad to pick it up.

    MANDY:

I picked this up to pad out the cost of shipping for another poster. I’ve seen this listed elsewhere before, but it always goes for a crazy amount of money and I don’t know why. I wasn’t wild about the movie when I saw it. Maybe I missed something? Anyway, when I saw this double-sided copy, because I’ve seen them go for biggish dollars in the past, I thought I would get myself one too. But really, did I miss something with this movie? I couldn’t tell you one thing about it now. It did nothing for me.

    DIRECTOR’S CUT:

This is a newish horror flick that was recently making the rounds to theaters. I never saw it. I don’t know how much play it got in cinemas. With streaming so prevalent, I don’t think it saw many screens.I picked this poster up, not because the movie is good… Remember, I haven’t seen it… but because I think it is a fairly obscure poster. I don’t think many were printed. Of course, I could Be very wrong… And I probably am. Oh well.

    CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD:
Like the poster above (DIRECTOR’S CUT), I got this poster for a horror movie. I haven’t seen yet, simply because I don’t think it’s that well circulated. I’m sure it’s getting a bigger release in theaters than DIRECTORS CUT. However, I don’t think it’s that much of a bigger release. So, just in case the movie is ever anything to write home about or be remembered, I thought I would get the poster. Anybody seen this yet? I’m guessing the clown is serving as a scarecrow? I don’t know. Hopefully it’s an a-MAIZ-ing movie. (At least better than the bad pun I just made. Groan…)

    BRING HER BACK:

I have no idea what this movie is about. However, when I saw this image… So creepy and freaky… I couldn’t help but buy a copy. The movie will probably be disappointing, but this poster is so heebie-jeebie awesome! (At least to me.)  Spooky! Eek! From A24? Hmm…

And that’s it. That is 10. Whoopie do. As I said, I already have more lined up. I think I have enough for a whole new posting, but I’m not entirely sure. Hopefully, I stop buying. Hopefully, if I continue to buy, I stop . buying crap. Well, some of these titles may be worth it, I’m not exactly enthused about any of them.

OK. I’m in my jammies. I need to hustle off to beddy bye and dance my way to dreamland. Sweet poster dreams to you. Cheers!

  • One does have to admire your enthusiasm

  • Enthusiasm...if only that helped made things cheaper. Ha! Cheers!
  • Brady Bunch is a very funny movie. I also like the art for Blood Beach, even if the film was a bit underwhelming.

I totally agree with you about BLOOD BEACH, which is may be why I didn’t have a copy yet (or do I??). Thanks for visiting the thread. Cheers!

Yes, I am back. Already. Oh my stars. My buying frenzy does NOT seem to be waning at all. Dang. Here’s a look at the stuff that I salvaged, er… picked and added to my collection this time. (Whoopie…) Take a look. It does end on a (very) good note, though.

HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER 2-  MASK OF SANITY (video):
LAME. poster —-and a video poster at that. Did this ever play theatrically? It was not NEARLY as good as the original (and I only a video poster for that), but now I have both.

    SEXTETTE:
I have one of these, but…it has some issues. Hopefully I’m trading up with this copy. This is an awful movie…but it boggles my mind that it was even made. Mae West (in her first film in decades and also her LAST film) stars an 80-something woman on her honeymoon with her latest husband, (a very young) Timothy Dalton. Ringo Starr. George Hamilton, Tony Curtis, Alice Cooper, and others show up. They are all either Mae’s ex-husbands or former suitors who are still wild about her. Rona Barrett (the queen of Hollywood gossip in the 70s) shows up, as does Don DeLoise, Kieth Moon, and Regis Philbin also pop up.  Just jaw-dropping. I may need to watch this again. Ha!

    O.S.S 117:
I’ve NEVER seen an O.S.S. 117 film. I THINK they are like Bond films but from France (?), but the first O.S.S. 117 film  (O.S.S. IS NOT DEAD) was in 1957… long before Bond hit the screen.  There have been at least 10 of these films (the most recent in 2021). This looks to be the second (?)  film in the series. I have the first poster…so, as dull as it is, I picked this up. Kerwin Matthews is best known for playing Sinbad in THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD. He also appeared in at least two of the O.S.S. 117 flicks.

    ARABIAN ADVENTURE:
I’ve I had one of these already, but it’s a fun poster I was padding out postage, as usual. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this movie. Christopher Lee? Peter Cushing? It’s gotta be fun. It looks fun. Anyone see it? Hmm… Since it doesn’t seem to be so easily viewable on the landscape, perhaps it is a dud. You think after all these years, I’ve seen it. But no.

    ANDY WARHOL’S HEAT (a.k.a. ANDY WARHOL’S HOLLYWOOD):
I have a very similar poster to this, but it has a more colorful framing around the image. I didn’t need this, But a movie poster with Sylvia Miles’boobs hanging out and Joe Dallesandro’s pubes on display? It’s not every day you see that in a poster. Ha! I’ll resell this down the road. The censoring on the boobs are my doing. Are pubes legal to show? Perhaps I should’ve crossed those out too. However, of the trio of films this one is always grouped with  (FLESH, TRASH, and HEAT), this is by far my least favorite.

    DEADLY DREAMS (video):
I’m pretty sure I have one of these already. Maybe not.. It’s not that good of a movie anyway. It stars Mitchell Mitchell Anderson, best known for playing Sean Brody, the youngest son of Roy Scheider and Lorraine Gary’s characters in  JAWS in the sequel JAWS: THE REVENGE. He’s the one that gets killed in the boat at the very beginning. DEADLY I can DREAMS, as I recall, is an instantly forgettable, direct-to-video slasher.  Yes, this is a video poster. I don’t think it ever played theatrically. I don’t think there is a theatrical poster for it.

    INFECTION:
I’ve never heard of this. It looks Asian, maybe. But really I’ve never heard of this. I just stumbled on the poster by accident. I know nothing about the movie, but I couldn’t let the poster go by. It wasn’t that expensive at all.

    MOON OF SCORPIO (video):
I don’t know what this is. It’s direct-to-video, whatever it is. I was taken by the cool image though. I picked it up because it was inexpensive. I hope it’s a good movie but I’m sure it’s crap. Anybody? Anybody?

    REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS:
I’m pretty sure I have one of these as well. But it’s such a fun poster  and such a cheesy movie by Tom DeSimone, who made HELL NIGHT and the amazingly jaw-droppingly camp first half hour of  TERROR IN THE JUNGLE.

INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (linenbacked):
Finally! After all of these years, I finally scored an INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. Yes, it is unfortunately linenbacked, but I’ve given up looking for one that wasn’t. This one came my way and… OK. Sold. I just wish I could afford it. Hmm… Maybe this movie should’ve been called INVASION OF THE WALLET SNATCHERS.

OK. That’s it. Go away now. I will be back… Sooner than you think.. Thanks for visiting the thread.
    Cheers!
  • That Invasion Of The Body Snatchers poster is striking Love the film..

it is a great flick. That’s why I’ve been after the poster for so long. I just wish this one wasn’t linenbacked. But, at this stage of the game, I’ll take what I can get. Cheers.
  • Body snatchers is wonderful.

And you came back…because of course you did. While I appreciate your curiosity, there’s not much to see here today. It’s a special all James Bond post…that’s NOT that special. It’s all posters I already have (well, except for two of them…). I came across a lot of all of these Bond posters and thought why not? Hmm. Should have passed… Prepare to be underwhelmed.

    TOMORROW NEVER DIES (video):

Of the Pierce Brosnan Bond era, TOMORROW NEVER DIES was my least favorite adventure. This video poster (for a freakin’ Bond movie) is as weak as they come. (Add only because I didn’t have one yet. Snore…)

    QUANTUM OF SOLACE:

Of the Daniel Craig era Bonds, this was my least favorite. Although it’s a direct sequel to Casino Royale, it just sort of went nowhere. At least that was my take away. I’m glad it was still a hit and insured future Daniel Craig installments.

    NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN:
Thunderball was never my favorite Sean Connery Bond movie. Although there was enough to like about it to make it iconic. This remake was wholly unnecessary. Sure, the gadget that bad guy Klaus Maria Brandaler (Whatever happened to him) uses as a game is interesting, but the movie overall just didn’t work for me. I was thrilled to have Connery back in action, but…

    LICENCE TO KILL:
Despite using the British spelling of “license” in the title and a grittier (?) Bond movie ( I remember the movie failure being blamed on it string too far from the bond formula and being “grittier” or something like that.), I actually like this Bond movie, even though it was considered a bomb. I thought it was a more action packed movie than the previous LIVING DAYLIGHTS. The poster though… It could’ve used some help. It had a license to not kill, but be mediocre…

    GOLDENEYE:
Aha! Pierce Brosnan’s debut in the role of 007 I should in a new era and a decent poster. While we are clearly in the age of Photoshop with this one, it’s not bad. And it was a decent entry in the series.

     TOMORROW NEVER DIES:
This is my least favorite of the Brosnan cycle of Bond films and probably the most disappointing of the posters (With the exception of the video poster for the same movie). It’s posters like this (snore), where you miss the artwork of the Connery and Moore eras.

    THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH:

The poster is a slight step up from TOMORROW NEVER DIES. But that’s still not saying a lot. Damn Photoshop! How boring can you get?

    DIE ANOTHER DAY:
Golly, I never really paid attention to how utterly nothing this poster is.

    THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS:

This poster reminds me of FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, although it’s obviously different. Timothy Dalton as James Bond is in a similar pose to that of Roger Moore on the aforementioned poster. The Bond gun barrel makes an interesting background and you know exactly what you’re saying… that this is a poster for a James Bond movie. The woman in the see-through white dress harkins back to the woman with her leg spread in the FOR YOUR EYES ONLY poster, too. At least I think so. Of the two Dalton films, I like this poster better, but I think the movie is far more pedestrian than LICENCE TO KILL.

ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE (Australian teaser):
Despite this being for an older James Bond movie, and the final poster being painted, this advanced teaser is another photo montage of bikini-clad women around a purposely mysteriously darkened portrait of George Lazenby, the new James Bond. When I picked this up, I didn’t realize it was the Australian version. I wasn’t paying attention. My bad. I didn’t have the US version anyway. So, whatever…

    SPECTRE:
Well, not my least favorite of the Daniel Craig movies, this is not my favorite either. That would have SKYFALL. But this poster for Spectra, in relation to the other posters of the Daniel Craig Bond era, isn’t bad. Having the skull faced figure behind Bond and larger than life, adds another dimension to a typically dreary Photoshopped poster. Well, I prefer the posters, especially the teaser for Craig‘s CASINO ROYALE, this isn’t all that bad when compared to the other Craig titles.

As you can see, I had no license to thrill with this post. Ho hum… I will no doubt be back when Amazon takes on Bond in his next adventure. God help us all. I’m hoping it won’t be terrible. I wonder what the poster will be like. Hmm…
    CHEERS!

  • Different. I knew all the titles this time around which doesn't normally happen. Nice to see an Aussie poster included.
  • It wouldn’t have been there and I realized it was an Aussie poster when I was buying it. That’s OK. It was far cheaper than a US version would’ve been. They’re essentially the same except for the ” Not suitable for children” blurb. The next post is filled with trash, but you’ve probably heard of all of those titles too. Thanks for visiting. Cheers.
  • OHMSS isn't prime Australian paper, but I hope it starts a conversion for you to the greatness of what can come from Down Under.
  • No disrespect to Australian paper at all. I have a couple of Australian pieces. I was going to point out, but I was mistaken that I thought I had noted this, that I thought the recent THE DEADLY MANTIS I scored was an Australian poster before I realized I’d picked up a US copy. My problem with the James Bond poster being Australian is that I have all of the one sheets for all of the James Bond films as US one sheets. Having that particular advance being Australian,  kind of put a kink in my collection, so to speak. My favorite Australian posters are the ones that have different art from the US counterpoints. But I DO have other paper from Down Under! Cheers!

Welcome back. Now that the James Bond stuff is out of the way (see my last post), I can trudge to some B-movie stuff. A lot of this stuff came from lot purchases. I have a lot of these posters already, and have shared them in previous posts. Not all of the posters from the various lot purchases will be shared. Don’t panic. I’ve just decided to share these as a way to look back at these B-flicks and reflect on them a bit.

    THE MEPHISTO WALTZ:
This was an early movie in the 70s satanic panic cycle, that was started with ROSEMARY’S BABY in the mid 60s. If you haven’t seen it, you’re not really missing much. What I do remember most from the commercials was a dog with a human head. Imagine my annoyance when it just turned out to be a dog with a mask on its head that someone placed on it as a joke. There was no “human headed” dog in the plot. Alan Alda I identify so much with being Hawkeye on M*A*S*H, that it’s hard to see him in this movie. At least for me, this is an instance where it’s hard to distance the actor enough to let him portray somebody else. So watching this for me was odd because it’s Hawkeye in all of these diabolical surroundings. Jacqueline Bissett and Barbara Perkins also star.

    HIGH VELOCITY:
This poster was a new one on me. I’d never heard of HIGH VELOCITY before. The cast is decent, but the reason I include this is because of the art. Pretty snazzy. If it wasn’t for the fact that it looks like a war movie, I might consider framing it and hanging it. I don’t know who the artist is but good job.

    WILLARD (teaser):
I already have the final one sheet for WILLARD. It is essentially the same poster. I just throw it in here for conversation’s sake. WILLARD, as I recall, there’s a pretty good little movie. I didn’t see the remake. The sequel was kind of lame.

    NIGHTWING:
I saw this movie when it came out and hated it so much. It was so boring. It was so deceptive. Nothing happens. Snore! There is another version of this poster with bats attacking people. It’s drawn and it’s more interesting, but it’s also more deceiving. Nothing happens in this movie. I’m not kidding. I never thought I would own one of these because I dislike the movie so much. Although this poster isn’t bad— the composition is actually nicely done— but the movie just sucks. I don’t remember what happens in it, but then nothing happened in it. Pass.

    THE FURY:
Once upon a time, as I am often wanting to do, I get hooked on derivatives of popular movies. I have posters for JAWS rip offs, the disaster movies, EXORCIST clones, etc. So is it any wonder I started getting posters for CARRIE knock offs? THE FURY not only riffed CARRIE’s telekinesis theme, it also starred cast member Amy Irving in one of the lead roles. I’ve seen the film several times and… It’s just not good. I don’t even think this silhouetted portrait of Aimee Irving and Andrew Stevens is really them.

    DAMIEN: OMEN II:
Oh, how I loved THE OMEN. The sequel, well, not being anywhere near as good as the original, was still fun. The poster though… They really could’ve done a better job. This is as minimal as it gets. And for a horror film and a sequel to a big box office hit? Really? Especially when it was going toe-to-toe in the summer of 1978 with the sequel to JAWS (which had a much better poster). As fun as the sequel was, the third one and the made for cable fourth one were just dull. The remake was a waste of celluloid. I did like the short lived TV series though, DAMIEN.

    THE SWARM:
Speaking of B, er bee movies… Ha! I LOVE Irwin Allen’s disaster movies. All of them. Even this one. His best, is of course, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE. THE TOWERING INFERNO was a huge hit, but not my favorite. THE SWARM, however, is almost so bad it’s almost good. It’s laugh out loud, oh my God what were the producers thinking? (Spoiler alert)  The killer bees attack a town that is having a flower festival of all things. The movie is loaded with stars. Olivia de Havilland in her final role, plays the principal of a school. When the bees attack, she’s looking out the window and over acts like crazy. It’s so damn funny. When they evacuate the town, after the bees have come and gone, all the stars that got on the train are killed when the bees attack the train, and it loses control in a gorge. Patty Duke is spared that plight. She’s an expectant mother who goes into labor, right when people are boarding the trains. She’s whisked away to the hospital to have her baby… And we never see her again. Slim Pickens shows up to reclaim this the body of his son after the bees have killed him. How he knows his son is dead is a mystery. You don’t see him before or after that. Henry Fonda, please a wheelchair bound scientist who mercifully dies while trying to come up with a cure for the bee venom and gets out of having to be in the rest of the movie. It’s also deliriously bad. I loved it.

ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES:
Zowie! Since when did the original PLANET OF THE APES series posters get to be so cheap? I saw this going at what I thought was a bargain price, and I couldn’t let it slip by without snagging it. To me, it seemed to be at or maybe a little cheaper than the one I got years and years ago. Perhaps the old APES flicks aren’t as collectible anymore?  That would be too bad. I LOVE those films.

    ANDROID:
I never saw this movie. I have no idea if it’s any good or not, but I seem to remember it was available on lots of different low budget DVD sets. I still never saw it. I have no idea if it was any good or not, but I always got the impression that it probably wasn’t. I don’t know. I do like the artwork on this poster though. That’s a nice plus.

THE BRIDES OF DRACULA (large French):
I have one of these French posters for the Hammer Films, werewolf movie, the proper name of which escapes me at the moment. That one, despite a stain on it, cost me a pretty penny. I don’t even know why I bought it with the stain on it. Anyway, I thought this one might make a nice companion piece, should I ever frame the werewolf one. I believe the werewolf one is a smaller French size. This one is massive. And it didn’t cost me as much as the werewolf one. Maybe someday I’ll get this framed and up on the wall. It’s rather nice.
And that is my 10 for this time. Schlocky, yes… But sometimes you need schlock in your diet.
Thanks for visiting. Don’t worry. I’ll be back with lots more posts. Recent bizarre buying binge, which I believe I’m over, has left me with many posts worth of material. (The scary thing is that, as I write this, I still have several auctions. I have bids on that have not closed yet. I doubt I’ll win any, but if I do… Eek! I can’t afford it!)
    I’ll see you soon.
    Cheers!
  • Another great selection. I might need to re-watch The Swarm. It is dreadful, but maybe I need to look at it as an unintentional comedy.

It’s still a turd, but it really is a jaw-dropping, who approved this? kind of bad/funny. The fact that the whole town is killed on the train (after the swarm had moved on) still floors me. Ha!
Good luck, should you choose to revisit it. (And hey! Don’t forget there is a torturously extended TV cut out there. Ha!) Cheers!

The next post is filled with trash, but you’ve probably heard of all of those titles too. Thanks for visiting. Cheers.
Referring to your earlier ccmment, yes indeed I am familiar with them all.

I will admit though that I have never seen any of them as none of the titles appealed to me.

I loved the original 1968 Planet of The Apes film. After viewing Beneath The Planet of The Apes. the follow up film in Honolulu, which I did find disappointing, I have never bothered to view any other Apes films.

Hi there. No worries about not seeing any of them. Not everyone likes trash/schlock. At least you’re aware of them. The next batch looks to be about the same although there may be one or two that will be new to you. Or not.
Of the APES films, they probably are rather silly. However, I saw them as a kid and was just mesmerized by them. I realize the apes look nothing like apes, but it worked for me. I love the whole series, even when it got horribly low budget and bad as the fifth one is. I also like the TV . Well, sort of on the TV series. It was kind of redundant. Anyway, that childhood enthusiasm for the film series keeps them relevant and eternally cool to me, if that makes any sense.
    Cheers!
  • As I previously mentioned one does have to admire your enthusiasm. You and I certainly have that in common.
Keen and wondering on what you may present here next,

Ha! I JUST NOW finished writing out the next post. However, I’ll hold off posting it for a while. Unlike the (mostly) photoshopped Bond post (snore…), my usual posts, filled with trash and treasures, is a bit more interesting (hopefully). I’ll wait a week or so before posting the next one.
Enthusiasm is really all you’ve got…especially when it comes to some of the crap I’ve bought in my lifetime. You know, where are your posts? I’ve never really learned how to navigate this site…and just pretty much stay on my own thread. I’d love to take a peek at your “enthusiasm”, so to speak. I’m sure you’ve got some great things.
    Cheers!
