  •  50   51

Another two images from classic American musical films. You just need to expand the images in your mind. Image 50 is from a famous performed musical number, and should't present a problem in one being able to identify the film.

  • 50 is easy, Singin' In The Rain (1952)

    Peter
  • 51 - I was thinking State Fair at first, but it has to be Carousel (1956)

  • 50 is easy, Singin' In The Rain (1952)

    Correct.

51 - I was thinking State Fair at first, but it has to be Carousel (1956)
Your final answer is of course correct.

I was initially thinking The Bandwagon for 51 but couldn't see a tickets sign in the penny arcade during "Shine On Your Shoes"

    I like your thinking.
  •  52  53

Two more images above to identify the musical films that the scenes are from. Both the films that these images come from are very well known.
  • I think 53 is from Man of La Mancha (it is the only well known movie with an ancient windmill I can think of!). I did not see the movie because of the dreadful reviews. It was one of my most favorite Broadway plays, and how they did not make the movie with Richard Kiley in the lead is beyond me.

Correct and it is of course Man Of La Mancha ( 1972  ). I have seen the stage musical twice with separate casts, and it is one of my favourite musicals. Having seen the film though I believe that it isn't as bad as it was made out to be when it was first released.

  • 52 Chicago?

Yes it is Chicago ( 2002 ). The film was a thoroughly enjoyable viewing experience.

  •  54   55  56

Another three images that don't include any people in them. These are well know film tltles that musical lovers will no doubt be aware of.

Back with some female included images next time around.
  • 54 sure could be West Side Story. I don't recognize it, but can't think of another musical with a memorable fire escape!

Correct answer and  well worked out for West Side Story ( 1961 ). A correction though in that the image number is 55 and not 54,

    Correct also and well spotted.

  • I have 54.  Give it a day or so for others, but I expect this one is tough.

The number 54 image presents what I had thought would be a good clue. From the 1940s.
  • Arrrrrrr!, it's probably The Pirate (1948).

Aye. Your image number 54 answer is certainly correct and well worked out.

  •    57  58  59

Back with some lovely ladies images once more. I am thinking two out of the three images will be easy enough to enable one to recognize the films that they are from.

Sure is Ladies Of The Chorus ( 1948 ) and well identified.

Due to Marilyn Monroe's increasing fame Columbia Pictures reissued the film in 1952, and elevated her name to sole top billing.

I haven't viewed this film. but I do remember many years ago seeing the musical number appearing in my  posted scene in a late night film screening on television..  The number is Every Baby Needs a Da-Da-Daddy which had been included by Columbia in the " B' war film Okinawa ( 1952 ).

Correct and well done. I had thought that this image may have turned out to be the most difficult of the three to identify.
