I could be imagining it, but the ratings advice always appears overly large on Hitchcock one sheets. Great OKC to own and very unique, Ves!
I went back and had a look at John's phenomenal collection of Hitchcock posters...and I dunno, I think the number of one sheets where the rating is overly large is minimal. Definitely on Foreign Correspondent. Mr and Mrs Smith and Spellbound, but the others don't seem too bad to me...
Think I saw that Malcolm on ebay a while ago, if that's where you bought it. Spellbound sticks in my memory as a large ratings one sheet. Rear Window is pretty big too.
No, my Malcolm came from John (thanks John) so guess that one is shot down too
Agree on Spellbound...and YES on Rear Window too...I don't think John had the OS on his site... I think it's the big round NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN on any OS that are mostly the problem...
That has to be amongst the BEST artwork for Strangers - if not THE best! Certainly puts the US paper to shame ? This Hitchcock title appears to be the rarest in Australian poster availability from Hitchcock's 1950's output. Is there a daybill image around
Just in case it was missed previously - anyone ever seen a daybill of Strangers On a Train ?
Sadly, there are quite a few posters that have proven very elusive for me. Strangers on a Train daybill and one sheet is one of them along with Dial M for Murder daybill and one sheet and some others.
Oh ok, so you've seen but don't have and/or don't have a picture???
At least you've seen yours are out there (not sure that is a good or bad thing...sorry).
I'm still waiting for a couple of the Martin and Lewis daybills to surface....
Do part posters count in this thread? I bought David's Air Raid Wardens OS and can't find another anywhere...and in this case would love to see another version surface to confirm how it should look...though I suspect most of what is missing is just white paper...
To the best of my knowledge these daybill titles that are up for grabs at present from Bruce, are the only copies I have ever seen. There are a lot more titles but I will only list the ones of some importance -
Shadow Of The Boomerang ( Australian rarity but artwork not so good, but another copy may never surface ).
Saturday Night And Sunday Morning ( early British new wave film named the 14th best British film of all time in the top 100 named by the BFI ).
I Want To Live! ( academy award winner ).
The Pawnbroker ( a great film }.
French Dressing ( minor film but nice colour and artwork ).
King Of Kings ( big showcase film in it's day ).
Poor Cow ( Ken Loach's first feature film}.
The Count Of Monte Cristo ( 1953 re-release ). Bruce auctioned a daybill he credited as being RR1960's in 1999, but an image is not available to see, so there is a query with this one as it could be the same design and same poster recycled here, or perhaps it is another copy altogether - who knows? ).
There may be others that qualify as well in the above average category, but there are the one's that stood out to me so now's your chance.

I have seen before...sorry I didn't know it hadn't been sighted...I have an image on my PC at home.
I see Farley is using the same shade of lipstick as Bogart did on his Warner Bros posters. Still, I think it's better than the US simply because of the colo[u]rs. Nicely done!
Sean/Kovac01 (APF) still owns the ONLY original of the Prestige advance MPs. Found it years ago on UK Ebay, maybe from the UK premiere (?). Never offered for sale again (to my knowledge):

In this current age of gender fluidity...you think people would be more tolerant of a bit of lipstick...

WOW!
I have seen the Strangers on a Train daybill but cant find a picture. It was auctioned on ebay several years ago and I got outbid unfortunately.
I'm guessing these next two are OKC, I've never researched them
Now at the National Film & Sound Archives.
