These original movie posters were actually found under an old hardwood floor in a house here in Vancouver BC that was being demolished some years ago.
Thehistorystorecanada purchased these posters from the salvager who personally found and carefully removed these rare posters as he removed the old hardwood floor piece by piece. The holes, tears and cut marks in the poster are from the hard wood floor being installed and nailed through the posters once the flooring was laid out and installed overtop.
I'm guessing Mysterious Pilot is a loner? Loved to be proved wrong so I can see the missing artwork etc!
Is yours the image on Pinterest.com? It certainly looks like it is.

O.K., now that is confirmed there appears to be another copy in existence in similar condition, but with different faults. The bad news is that the other copy won't be of much help with missing artwork and also you won't now have the only copy you thought you may have had. With 1920's and 1930's daybills in particular, multiple copies often turn up in similar damaged condition due to the way they were stored together ( badly ). Another point of interest is although the vast majority of 1920's and 1930's daybills haven't appeared to have survived, there are also a number of titles existing today in multiple copies and with these varying in condition.
Its hard to say for sure but I have never seen any daybills for In the Navy before. Have you ever come across anything? It is printed by Marchant so the time frame is right.
Have a look at the ''When a Stock Poster Stands Tall'' thread and there is a later produced similar adjusted image of this design displayed.

Firstly Wil my comment was replying to Mark, Eisenhower's " Now that's what a one-of- a kind should look like....'' comment and secondly the image I have of this poster has completely different border damage on it. There is even slightly more paper on it with the word present in full, followed by some intact paper then extending across the the edge of the top of the poster. Sorry no image available at present but I will see that an image gets to you soon to see.

Apologies Lawrence, I thought you were referring to the one on Pinterest. An earlier image I posted some time ago showed this pre-backing where it had slightly more to it (including the word 'present' in full). Sadly when I finally recovered my unbacked posters from Dale Anthony, it was returned in a worse state than sent with a handful of fragile bits missing. The Affiche Studio backed what remained.
No worries Wil. You wouldn't have counted on what happened then, but it is still a great poster that anyone would like to own regardless of it's current condition.
I have spoken to Wil and my image and the two previously shown images are all of the same daybill of Wil's that were photographed by him in various stages of getting his daybill to the final stages before and after getting it backed. So unless another copy turns up one day at present he has the only known copy.
Ok ladies & gents, I think have another " only known copy". Courtesy of a generous Aussie, there are a few US One sheets of this poster floating around, but I couldn't find any Australian copies other than mine. Experts, what'ya think?....

Beautiful, and the only copy I have ever sighted.
